Ok, when I heard Physician Heal Thyself I was shocked and dissapointed.. I seriously mean that... but when I got a hold of the whole album and listened to it completely I was actually amazed...I had to listen it 2 times to grow on me.... the stuff is (in my opinio) amazing!

What actually was so cool that it was all recorded analog.
I was a big fan of "The Funeral of God" and it was actually the first album of Zao I like, maybe because it was their first production where they used real "modern" technology to make the drums sound more "metal"....but now listening to this, I think they (Zao and Steve Albini) did a great job!

Just curious about anyone else's thought, cause I think it doesn't happen in metal that much (!) anymore, productions like these.....

I think it's absolutely fantastic. I'm glad they got rid of their old drummer, got a new one, then got this one haha. He is one of the best things to happen to this band...more technical aspects, and just insane.

They said this would be their "punk" CD. They say that because its the fastest, and most chaotic...and I agree. I love it, tons of energy.

All I gotta say about the production...ONLY ZAO could get away with this. They've always been about the raw just nasty sound to a point that it sounds amazing.

I'm a fan of every one of their CDs that Dan is on...they've inspired me in a wierd way...I don't write like them, but they make me think up some crazy stuff sometimes...I don't know how to describe it.

i can't take zao seriously, i saw them live with dillinger escape plan and they had a song about that pornstar who commit suicide, i think her name was savanna or something, and i got the douche chills as they introed the song.

aren't they christians too? whats with the cd titles: the funeral of god ? what are they saying.

oh man, this will never end for them...shame.

They're not a christian band...it STARTED that way...but the current members aren't all christians...some are, but its not a preachy christian band. They write about whatever...they actually hate religion.

The funeral of God...if you ever looked at the lyrics or read the interviews...its actually pretty neat. It was a concept CD on say there IS a God, what would happen if he died? They're not trying to say anything...you gotta look at what it really is about.

I actually like the song Savannah, but whatever. I don't see how ONE song can change how you see all of their work.

if you look at the other song lyrics, dan (the vocalist) is fanastic. He is kind of morbid, kind of out there and loves zombies lol, but he writes some really good stuff. ZAO wouldn't be zao if he wasnt in the band

I think the thing I like most about savannah is the music...
