No Im not talking about the song by famed Chicago metal act Macabre. I am wondering what zodiac sign you are , and if you buy into any of that stuff?
I am a Saggitarius, I think I have alot of traits of a Saggitarius: I like to travel, I mediate alot of fights, I am jovial
,etc,etc.
Nick
I buy into it as much as I buy into tarot.
I did some reading ahead here and regret missing most of the meat of this thread. Here's my take on astrology.
I am a:

But this means little to me as much as I understand about astrology. On one hand, I have a great snippet of what my personality *should* be like according to...whatever astrologists call their research, yet I'm quite seperate from many of the major qualities listed. The traits fit, but not quite right. To break this down further, I could take a look at my sun sign, the exact position of the moon at the time of my birth, as well as peek at the exact positions of ALL of the zodiac at my birth. I'm going to come up with quite different and detailed results.
For example:
Sun sign qualities:

Moon:
"Your Moon is in Pisces

Tenderhearted and sympathetic to an unusual degree, you have an understanding of other people's feelings and needs which borders on being telepathic. You are extremely compassionate and cannot bear to see any fellow creature - be it human or animal -suffer. Because of your kindness and nonjudgmental attitude, people in pain or confusion are drawn to you for help, which you readily give. Sometimes your softheartedness is taken advantage of.
You are a gentle, poetic soul and have a great love and affinity for music. Because many of your feelings are nebulous and vague and you cannot easily verbalize how you experience life, music seems a natural language for you. You are also tremendously romantic and are often "in love with love".
Or, of course we could go into ALL the nitty gritty details:
http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/horoscope/astrology_terms.html and start looking at what houses my sign is in at the time of birth and the effects that a star shining over China may have had on my childhood.
Now we're talkin'; but I like complicated things.
It still doesn't instill a distinct FAITH on astrology simply because I'm well aware of more conventional practices to predicting my human behavior:

See the difference? Just for the records, NEITHER (astrological OR "scientific") one description fits the exact person of what I am. But back to my point: the original point of astrology was not to predict human behavior. The purpose astrology was created was to predict *well-being* - especially for the royalty of the ... oh, here:
http://www.touregypt.net/astro/. Comparisons are based on how well that particular sun sign did on that month, day, hour, etc PRIOR to the prediction. Which is still how horoscopes are generated. Last year, my particular sign and person (complete with matching moon, houses, planets and sun) on THIS DAY, I had a rather crummy day. Year before that, crummy. And before that? Crummy. (One would need diaries to achieve this, I dug them out solely for this post) But TODAY was actually a great day for me. Is it because I expected trauma and learned from past experiences and put them to work? You betcha. Now you have an idea of how astrology works. You can throw that tooty fruity divination out the window - predictions are based on past experiences and how much I've learned to scope, yearn, and work for well-being.
It's a farmer's almanac in sun/moon encrusted theories.
Astrology is speculations, contrasts, and comparisons. At one point it was considered science because it was all we had to attempt to predict how well we were going to be. As others have pointed out in this thread: you're only as good as you allow yourself to be.
But remember, others born within the same time frame as you have made poorer decisions.
FYI: Leos are known to give ten dollar answers for two cent questions.
Keep the change.
