    I need some pointers

So most everyone here seems to more or less focus on a high-production value home recording. Well I've got a friends band and they want to sound something along these lines (production quality-wise): I need that warmer, old school, cassette tape sound. I currently am working with...

Can't really seem to dial a guitar tone in right

I'm using the UX1, but not Pod Farm. I've tried a few free amp sims, like Nick Crow's 8505, SoloC, etc.

Can't really seem to dial a guitar tone in right

I can get a pretty dope tone for one guitar, but the other... I just can't find something that works the way I want it. I'm not sure where the problem lies. It's an LTD MH-250NT, loaded with Seymour Duncan Blackouts, tuned to drop A (but its a 6 string) and I'm using Ernie Ball Beefy...

Are there no VTM 60/120 amp sims?

I think those amps sound dope if dialed in right, and should at least merit their own amp sim, even if people don't use them as much as other amps. I saw Black Mask live about a month ago. They have one guitar player running a stereo rig, both with VTM's, and it sounded HUGE! In this, he's...

    6505+ issue

Minimum 3 years, max 4. I bought it used in 2010, but the serial number says 2009, so the head is only 4 years old, and in the event he changed the tubes at a year (which i doubt) they're a minimum of 3 years old now.

    Central Florida Guitarist?

Considering this is the only place listed for classifieds, I thought this would be the best place to post this. If it needs to be moved, let me know. But we've got a kid playing guitar for us now whose heart is in the right place, but his priorities aren't. We need a new guitar player...

A few questions on heavy metal mixing.

I'd recommend not copying/pasting the guitars, but instead quad-tracking the guitars. Also, the secret to a good guitar tone is in the bass tone mixing with it. and +1 for EQ'ing the kick to more appropriate for sonic room. Also, shortening the decay on your kick may help. A quick, punchy kick...

    6505+ issue

Yep, it was a fuse. Got it fixed and used it at our show last night. However, I think something may have led to this fuse blowing. When I first power it up, it has a little crackle type noise until its warmed up. Its not dust in the pots, cause it doesn't change if I turn my knobs. Its like a...

    6505+ issue

So my head decided to stop working. Here's the issue. Power turns on, power tubes glow, red LED turns on, but stand by won't turn off. Green LED doesn't turn on, no sound, no nothing. Looking at the amp chassis atm, pre amp tubes also glow. fuses look okay from what i can tell although one...

    Do 6x12 Impulses exist?

I'm aware of always having your head needing to be plugged into a cab, which isnt an issue. I'm in a house not an apartment. All I have is a Line 6 UX1 that I recently got for an interface. (as well as a Shure SM57). I don't think it'll work like your talking. See, that's what I was...

    Do 6x12 Impulses exist?

I'm not sure I can DI the head. My 6505+ won't turn off stand by ATM (I think it needs a new tube) So I've been using a VTM 60 for the time being, and I'm not sure I can send the signal out of it other than to a cabinet Here, take a look (maybe its the "Booster out"?):

    Do 6x12 Impulses exist?

I play through a 6x12, and have no idea how to make impulses. Just thought it'd be a pretty cool idea if someone had made impulses using a 6x12. But would it make a difference? I mean, I think it makes a difference in my tone live, but for impulses, could you hear the bigger sound...

help me decide on this bargain

+1 for wanting to know why you'd avoid the 6505+?

    Metalcore mix, good or bad?

IMHO this was the best mix listed, so far.

    Recommend me an interface

I was previously using an ART Tube MP preamp with a USB out as an interface, and it used to work surprisingly well. But out of no where, it started giving me an insanely loud hiss, and I guess thats what I get for buying anything by ART
