    RIP Empire

I am saddened - but not surprised - by this, seeing as Division practically lived there from 1996-2008, and we still played there pretty regularly until the new ownership came in. I've been seeing bands there since it was the Copa. I will miss it, but to be honest I haven't been going there as...

Universe Effects - In The Haze That Surrounds Us

Man, they *really* like Kansas, but this in not a bad thing. Enjoyable.

Beyond The Black - Songs Of Love And Death

She sounds like Sara Bareilles. A lot like her, in fact. This is nice enough, but it's lacking something that the bands that are really good at this style (Brave, anyone?) have.

    Periphery Juggernaut

It's still pretty djenty, and the whole genre's running out of ideas, but at least Periphery is attempting to branch out. I also find it a pity that best guitarist in the band plays bass, but that's how it worked out. Nolly's a good guy, too. I don't think they had two albums worth of stuff...

What drew you to ProgPowerUSA the 1st time?

I remember Dirk (their singer) asking my wife if she wanted him to sign her stomach while we were waiting at the desk of the hotel. She says "my husband's standing right there" and he says "well I'll sign his, too!" That was a great show. I got to see them twice that year, which was...

What drew you to ProgPowerUSA the 1st time?

Symphony X, Evergrey, Zero Hour, Jag Panzer and Pain of Salvation at PPI. Man, did it ever deliver. Edit: Also, I wanted to see if Harv could pull it off. Obviously...

    R.I.P. Joe...

It's getting to be far enough out from the '60s and '70s that the remaining legendary rock stars are inevitably going to leave us. That doesn't make it a pleasant thing. RIP Joe, who only knew how to make music with passion.

    Iris Divine - Karma Sown...

...wow, I figured with the number of people here that contributed to the Kickstarter that there would be something about this already posted ahead of my slacking. I knew this was going to be good, but it's turned out to be one of my favorites of the year! https://irisdivine.bandcamp.com/ You...

Yeah, I'll have to pick this up, if for no other reason than that Gordon can sing his ass off.

SANCTUARY Completes Work On 'The Year The Sun Died'...

It's quite possible all the songs were written by the end of 2013 and copyrighted, but not actually recorded for the final product until early this year. Then again, you're talking to a guy who finished an album in 2001 and had it come out in 2004, so...
