    Universal: Comments (MODERATED!!)

I found this one on Encyclopedia Metallum, very well-written. Pasting it here: A More Complex Borknagar - 88% Written by thomash on February 22nd, 2010 Borknagar’s style has always done a great job of using folk melodies without diluting their black metal. Considering their use of...

Another Fun Thread: Top 10 Albums 2000-2009

Since most music scribes these days are trying to sum up the greatest records of the last decade there's no reason for us not doing the same. Though choices though, I have thus far actually only manage to think up 8 records that fit that list... i have to think further on the remaining two. But...

Time to sum up it up: greatest metal releases this year 2009

Well Borknagars Epic never managed to surface THIS year, so it will have to wait until next year to get listed. The best ones this year i would say is (in no particular order) Deströyer 666 - Defiance (a true masterpiece) Code - Resplendant Grotesque (one of the few interesting black...

The title for the new album is....

Absolutley wonderful. It sets the vibe instantenously. The link to TAC is obvious - which is wonderful. Universal is one of your all-time greatest songs. Time it got recognised in this way, just like (songs/albumtitles like) Origin and Quintessence.

    New Borknagar interview at HeavyMetal.no

The colour on the cover is in fact very important. Read an interview with Jimmy Page where he said that he almost had regrets for the colours they did choose for some of their albums (brown, orange etc.) since especielly these colurs tend to "colour" the music. The "brown" album really sounds...

    Album(s) of the year

Rap/hip hop doesn't exist in my world. Instead, check out these guys, especially "Svanesång". Real nordic folk music It doesn't get any better. And they look great too, with their hammer pendants.

    Album(s) of the year

I must change my list. I have just reached the insight that Satyricons latest albums doesn't stand the test of (even short) time. Away it goes. Insted their place rightfully goes to Opeth - Watershed In fact Enslaved and Opeth owned 08. You rednecks should watch for their upcoming US tour!
