How do you use one shot snares?

Recently I've been reading a lot of articles and seeing that there's a lot of engineers who incorporate one shots with their drum sound. See I've never tried blending samples before. I either commit to the source drum sound or replace it completely with a different sample. Here's some of my...

Awesome thanks! So do you master inside s1 as well? I mean do you process the mix itself in s1?

How do you add tags/info on the tracks?

So I'm almost done with this album and I need to burn the final copies. I'm just curious because I might be doing it wrong. What I do before is use the mp3tag software lol and I'm wondering if there's a legit way to add tags on songs? How do?

Why would a band request to be there when mixing?

What the top guys do is mix alone for a couple of hours (3-5 maybe and with breaks of course), then ask the band members or the producer to come in and tell the mixer what they think of the mix, do the revisions, and then make the final decision the next morning. I've read this from Bob...

Best way to reduce noise from windows?

Not sure where if I posted this on the right subforum lol. Problem is one side of my room is basically 60% made of windows and i'm wondering how I can reduce external noises. Would thick curtains do the trick? I was also wondering if there are any specific kind of windows for the job.

The Manhattan Algorithm - Best mix I've ever done, multitracks coming soon!

Sick song and production man! I'm honestly digging the guitar/synth combination, gives the band a distinct identity. Any info on the synth used on the tracks? I was also wondering if the multitracks are already uploaded? Would love to try my hand at this kind of music.

How do you start your mixes?

I know that it's going to be different for everyone and I'm looking for interesting stuff that you guys do. I personally start with drums then bass then guitars then vocals. This is because everytime I mix I reference Ermz's book, and somehow I think i've developed a bad habit. I think i've read...

    percepting your own work

I think if you're really passionate with what you do, you will never be satisfied with your work. Which is a good thing of course. Those scenarios you enumerated are spot on, I was in the same situation 3 hours ago haha!
