Stupid dream is a great CD Their newer stuff is average to good pop-rock, check out their older stuff like Voyage 34 and (my favourite) Up the Downstair. It's more progressive, maybe jazz-influenced, and pretty much more interesting.

Gildenlow for sure. No comparison. Although I am a big fan of Akerfeldt's death growls, his clean singing isn't nearly as nice as Daniel's.

I have to put Quick Fix of Melancholy and Perdition City above Blood Inside, but thats because there's more of Garm's voice to be found on those albums... which i'm a big fan of. Also I've only given Blood Inside a pair of listens, may need more.

i haven't heard all of DT's stuff (3 or 4 albums..) but nah. *zzzzZz* a few of their shorter controlled songs i didn't mind too much, but the rest is just too much wanking and not enough worthwhile content. The singer goes off the rails, the drummer has NO TASTE, and Petrucci's non stop barrage...

i have to say, (this is the first time ive heard about this no-old-shit problem) that bloody sucks! go the devy townsend way and be your own fuckin boss! thats completely fucked up that bands don't get to make choices like this. MFN would have to pay royalties to candlelight right? speakin of...

AC/DC are boring, same template for every song, only saved by the massive rock guitar sound. its still just a few overdriven chords. they had their moments though. i don't get into formulaic rock that well... btw, don't use a phrase like 'lets face it'. morningrise is good

I'm giving Jon from Dissection a whole heap of points here. Mikael is definately on top of his game here though, his growls are demonic. Honourable mentions out to the vocalists from November's Doom, Hypocrisy, Amon Amarth (!) and Primordial.
