    Favorite Agalloch Album!

AMAZING band. Ashes nearly took my album of the year award last year, but i would say their most complete and crowning achievement is THE MANTLE.

    Forgotten Tomb - Negative Megalomania

i'm not sure if this has been discussed yet or not, so my apologies if this is a repeat thread. what thoughts do you have about the latest offering? personally i'm a very big fan of it. the title track is a killer song, and the clean vocals are very rough, but very fitting. i also read...

    Dying Fetus-War of Attrition

great disc! i would consider it better than Destroy the Opposition. Raping the System is a killer song.

    The Purpose of Metal

music itself is an indescribable art, to the point that we invent a new culture full of new terms to try to come close to even pinpointing with some sort of clarity exactly what we are hearing. that being said, metal takes this culture to its heights. we are tireless in our efforts to...

    Albums of the Year: 2006

20,000 is not nearly enough for such a claim. i have that, and easily have only listened to 10% of the metal world.

    Pain of Salvation - Scarsick

its growing already. I cannot get Spitfall out of my head for the life of me. right there in the middle, that little added keyboard or synth loop. fucking prods my brain!

    Borknagar - Origin? rofl...

    New wave of folk metal

Try Vintersorg's band WATERCLIME as well. has folk elements, but also mixes some industrial and jazz as well. its really neat stuff.

What's your favorite black metal band in the list above

i chose Agalloch, even though i consider them more of a folk metal. with them excluded, my second choice would easily be Enslaved. love their catalogue to death.

    Ragnarok Logo?

personally, ripoff or not, i'll allow it. i like the sound of both bands. also, the wikipedia information aside, its a logo. originality should really shine through the music performed, and Ragnarok shows that.

    The OFFICIAL House Thread

right, and its not so much a one-sided, self-centered show towards only House. now the actions of everyone else are documented and focused upon. sure it has an ultimate effect, but its not always toward House.

    Riverside vs. Porcupine Tree
