I think it is all a bit lame to stuff bands into boxes. There are definitely differences between major categories like Country and Metal, but past that, who cares? If you like what you hear, what difference does it make if the music fits a defined subcategory? And screw subjectivity. I'm so sick...
I fill my time mostly with work(which sucks). I'm a professional software developer. When I do have spare time, I hang out with my wife, play World of Warcraft, play guitar(21 years), exercise, eat(why I exercise), and other everyday mundane life stuff.
I'm always listening to music.
I go...
So far, I'm liking Octavarium. It's more intriguing than ToT. I'll give a few more listens definitely.
It's disappointing when a band that you like diverges from your taste, but how can anyone fault an artist for doing what they want? I agree that a producer could possibly make the songs...
sweet. They are coming to Phoenix, though I don't really care for Cricket Pavillion. It's 111 degrees today... July 23... my guess is either it's going to be monsooning, sweltering, or both. Joy! I'm there, regardless!
I play guitar(a couple of Jacksons, through a Johnson Millenium combo), drums(9-piece Pearl kit, Zildjian cymbals), sing, and dabble with keyboards. I used to play bass many moons ago, but I no longer have a bass to practice on.
Listened to the clips... Couldn't really tell much except that I thought it sounded like ToT(I didn't like ToT). I'm still hoping for the something good.<crosses fingers>
I didn't think he looked like Russ. http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0320661/Ss/0320661/KOH-530.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Csokas,%20Marton
So what did you think of the movie? I didn't think it was one of Ridley's better movies, but it wasn't horrible either. The editing was all over the place...
