What do you think of Shadows Fall?

I heard one of their songs on Headbanger's Ball and I liked it. Sounded kind of prog with heavier vocals. I'm contemplating getting the album but wanted to get some opinions first.

Maybe a poll is the best way to get quick answers.

they have some nice catchy parts. good leads. not romeo but good. a little metalcore-ish but still good. i have the war within and art of balance

That band is ok I guess, but they need a better vocalist. The current vocalist makes Alexi Laiho sound like a super technical opera-singer with a 4 octave range.

Good solid band, nothing super amazing, but definitely good. I have no real complaints about anything they've done, I even like the vocalist. Good riffs, good leads, good drumming, bunch of good vocal melodies

they are DEFINITELY not prog. the music is good, but the singer needs to get out of the metalcore mode.

Personally I love these guys. They're certainly not prog in any way, but a great band nonetheless.

I think they are alright for a thrash/metalcore band. I hate how they add metalcore breakdowns in that song on headbangers ball. I have The Art Of Balance and it's a pretty decent cd. They got a lot of talent and skills.

They're alright, defenetly worth given a try! They're no Symphony X, meaning they dont got MJR nore do they have a Russell Allen in that band! And their singer is a little too Hard Metal for me! as many peeps said in the thread, they're not prog-Metal bit still a good band!

Yea, we all know all this, but the vocals are terrible IMO.

For the record, I believe they have 2 vocalists.

They're OK. I agree with Yngster. I saw them live back in 2000.
