here is a variety of Überschall clips...
with and without Tubescreamer...some shit, some passable.

I tried to stay close to the "everything at 1:00" Setting, so the tones are not EXTREMELY different, but I think they show the overall charakter of the amp pretty well nonetheless.

of course, if you want more scoopage, gain and subbass.....there plenty more in there, the knobs are really changing the whole sound if you want....I couldn't be arse to record more clips though...no time :)

as always with these quick tests I didn't bother too much about mic positioning and ampsettings etc....just threw the sm 57 in front and hit record.

All the info about the files and settings can be found in the attached rtf file

one day I'll spend some time tweaking and record some really KILLER clips with the Bogner....till then you'll have to live with these :)

Sounds great!! I really like how it sounds without the TS. I know the Uber is a different animal than my knucklehead but I was told that I would like the KT88's in it. After listening to your clips, I am about sold. I like the bottom end without loosing the tightness in it.

Hi Lasse,

Thanks for the effort, much appreciated.

I followed your instructions and reamped those DI's thru my stock Uberschall
for the purpose of comparison.

The only difference in amp settings is that I could not set my master volume
to 9:45 because that would be too loud for my lounge room.
I used a lower master volume but everything else is the same, note that my
TS is a Ibanez TS9.

There is a large difference in sound between my stock Uberschall and your
modded one. There is a lot less gain in my clips, I would need to set the
gain to at least 3:00 or more to get an equivalent amount of gain which
you can hear if you compare the noise floor between my clips and yours.

Anyway, here they are :

Though I think those differences are not mainly because of the el34 vs kt88, but because of the different revisions.....mine's a rev2, yours sounds like a rev blue

the differences are: rev blue sound tighter, less dark, more mids, less gain
rev2: darker bigger, looser, less mids, more gain

what color is your pilot light?

The pilot light is blue, does that mean it is a rev blue ?

I am guessing that does.

If I turn the gain all the way up on mine it does sound similar-ish
to yours with a gain at 1:00.

yup, that's a rev blue then.
people say they also sound much better with KT88 in them....bit less marshally bit more modern and a bigger, deeper bass
