still, I think its kind of interesting that musicians aren't necessarily locked into some kind of niche of what they can listen to. In fact they sometimes seem to be far more broad-minded than their fans.

I read this a few days ago, funny to see people's reactions. I got a bit of a laugh out of how many times albums like the new Soilwork got mentioned by people who you wouldn't think would listen to something like that. Jeff Loomis, for example.
On the other hand, some people were completely shocked that Dan Swano chose Green Day as one of his faves, but if you know much about the guy you know he's an unashamed pop music lover.
