Aye! Saw slayer live this year... my god! they had two gigantic inverted crosses, built out of twleve 4x12 marshal cabs... and they still sounded like a sloppy fart. But then I've never been a fan anyway.
One thing that surprised me... Cannibal Corpse are of a similar fame to Slayer, and they too released an album this year. Not many people named it though (did anyone?), the only difference between slayer and CC is every CC album has been totally mint and the new one is unbelievable. CC have a future.
Kill is a great album.... indeed I haven't seen many mentions to Cannibal Corpse.
But I'm sure at least one guy mentioned it. Not sure who was it. I've to check the lists again... however, kudos for this one mentioning Cannibal Corpse.
All the winners in this article are overrated... Slayer, Iron Maiden, Celtic Frost, Tool, Lamb Of God... just Motörhead isn't, at least in my point of view.

just one thing I'd like to add... Niklas' list may sound a bit pretentious, but it seems to be honest. Unlike the lists of Pain Of Salvation's Daniel Gildenlow, for instance.

Honestly, I'm surprised by these two lists. They have better taste than I expected... and I agree with Niklas, OM is excellent.

One of Daniel Gildenlöw's picks, Anna Ternheim's Separation Road is really good singer/songwriter-ish pop.
Do you have to mention about Eric Peterson's pick on almost every thread about this topic on UM and on Kreator's forum? :Smug:
My favorite list there is probably from Biomechanical's John K and To-Mera's Julie Kiss. Arch Enemy's Michael Amott's list is pretty good as well.
