2014 Shows

D'uhh, shows in 2014? Hold on, lemme try to remember.

Well, for starters, this weekend I'm seeing 3 concerts:
- Friday - Dream Theater @ Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC
- Saturday - Steve Hackett (Genesis Revisited tour) @ Port Chester in upstate New York
- Sunday - Dream Theater again @ the Paramount in Huntington, New York
I have my VIP ticket for the Long Island Dream Theater show, because I am lame enough to pay $200 to shake Jordan Rudess's hand lol

Before that, I think my only show this year has been ...
The Musical Box (best Genesis Tribute ever) @ NYCB Theater in Westbury, New York
.... I think that's it lol

I've been very non-active with concerts lately :(

Ragnarokkr is up next for me. I'm looking forward to finally seeing Riot and Grim Reaper, and arguing with the Chicago posse in person.

I'm starting a Kickstarter campaign where you can bid on who you want me to punch most often - Jasonic or Diabolik. Get your bids in now!

They probably need hugs more than punches.

Exactly one month until the Iced Earth/Sabaton/ReVamp concert. And so begins the furious savings for the merch table.

I will put in 5 bucks for two punches to Jason!!!

next show is the Ragnarokkr metal fest in chicago....

Riot, Grim Reaper, Picture, Voltax, Argus, Black Death Resurrected, Visigoth, Axemaster, Witches Mark, Crowhaven, Diamond Rexx, Axxion, Night Demon, Amulance, Eternal Champion, Seax, Skull hammer, Power Theory, Spare Change, Razor Fist, Dark Design, Dogbane, Possessor, Ravish, Midnite Hellion, Lady Beast and I am sure I am forgetting one.

The Ocean, Scale the Summit and The Atlas Moth last night in NYC... wow! The Atlas Moth was surprisingly good, Scale the Summit even better than anticipated, but The Ocean was absolutely insane. For whatever reason, I was expecting something of a mild-mannered band and a laid back audience. The crowd and the band were insane. Half way through the first song, the singer took a running leap (backwards) into the crowd, which not only further incited the audience, but set the tone for the evening. The band was intensely high energy throughout, the crowd was literally swinging from the lighting, screaming the lyrics, and the pit was surprisingly active. Great show. I have a whole new level of respect for The Ocean and will make it a point to catch them every time they tour.

Y&T were brilliant as always. Rockpile was a nice venue but a bit out of the way (Scarborough). David Meniketti is the best live singer living today. :OMG: The two local bands were... Well I'd rather hear Diablo Swing Orchestra play the music of Halcyon Way while tied up to a very uncomfortable chair.

Sabbath later tonight

Add on:
Mastodon and Gojira, May 15 @ Terminal 5, NYC
Meshuggah, June 21 @ Best Buy Theater, NYC

Also there was a screw up with my Dream Theater VIP, nobody told me there was a Paramount Theater in Denver, Colorado.
