3 bands you have never seen that you would like to see at PPUSA

I think Periphery would fit in well with the ProgPower crowd. The Prog folks would love the talent, the power folks would love the heaviness. And if they can handle Sanctuary and Overkill, the vocals won't bother them. Well, I'd hope. And yes, AtB would be. But they crush it live. I think they are as good as Leprous live, even though they don't have the clean vocals. 2 guys with 8 string guitars moshing on stage is a sight to see.
They are kicking off a tour with Devin ... hit's chicago here in a few weeks. I have seen Overkill lots of time live, doesn't mean I was not excited to see them at ProgPower.

I saw both After the Burial and Periphery live once. They were really.... the opposite of good.
Interestingly enough, i'd be a huge supporter of Between the Buried & Me, or Protest the Hero, or even The Dillinger Escape Plan on the fest. BTBAM should appeal to all the prog fans, PtH should(in a reasonable, perfect world) appeal to at least some pm fans and some prog fans, and TDEP should appeal to anyone with a sense of fun - and would be a crazy-as-fuck oddball band to get, comparable with when Glenn got Primordial.

I agree with you completely, but there's something about labeling a band "djent" that makes a lot of people recoil in horror.

I like BTBAM and TDEP both - but not sure how you can say AtB and Periphery don't kill it live. i have seen both 3 times and they have done nothing but blow the audience away.

You know, while we're bandying about djent names, I think that Erra would land pretty well at the fest. They're also from the neighboring state of Alabama so they would be really cheap to get to the fest!
