Just got back from the midnight showing, I haven't laughed this hard in a long time...my question ...was it intended to be funny? if it was it was brilliant ...if it wasn't it sucked... discuss
Yeah alot of its glory came from that catchphrase, and visual goodness.
Haven't seen, so can't make that judgement, but from what I have seen it didn't look like it was trying to be funny.
is it because they were only wearing briefs and capes?
Our audience didn't erupt in laughter during any of the ridiculous scenes... it was a buncha weird mormons (I happened to have to sit next to the fattest one of all, btw, who smelled like 'an anchovies cunt'). Think they were from some church escapade or something.
Either way, this adaptation of a Frank Miller Graphic Novel, unlike Sin City, not so well.
Its amusing for the ridiculous factor though, if you like going to the theater for laughing at cheesy shit.
the bloodshed and the beheadings were cool as hell, but the cheese was so fucking heavy I felt like I was engulfed in a prison of velveeta....

Yeah, some of the battle scenes were cool... but still they had a real provolone feeling to them, lingering from the rest of the scenes in the movie, and I just couldn't enjoy them so much as I would sit in my seat and laugh to myself as the people around me looked on.
I enjoy me some rape footage.
