Got this PDI-09 in last week while I was on vacation, got back yesterday and reamped a bit today.

81 -> OD808 -> 5150 -> PDI-09 -> Saffire PRO (quadtracked)

No processing at all done do the guitar tracks.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not liking it at all - I actually like the POD a bit better (http://jefftd.googlepages.com/PODxt.mp3).

The Palmer's for sale. :lol:

To my ears,palmer sounds-like line in,with some EQ,matching speaker-spectrum.
He has no breath,sculpture.
POD-sounds more,like a real cab,but-with awful mic placement.
Maybe-you should try-more wide comparsion?
With-different settings of palmer,and-different cabs and mic placements-with POD?
And-how about-give a try-with Guitar Hack's impulses?
I think EXACTLY the same thing!
I doubt that an analogic cab sim would ever get near to the accuracy of an impulse response...
The pod cab is impulse based, sounds more real to me (more detailed), but it's definitely not a good cab/mic combination... the volume is lower too.
I think that GH's impulses would probably kick the palmer in the ass...

The Palmer is definitely the best analogic cab sim I ever heard, I must say!

Yeah, neither are anywhere near as good as a mic'd cabinet, no doubt about that. I'm giving some impulses a shot now - haven't been all that impressed in the past, and it's a pain in the ass IMO to have to run 4 extra plugins, but if it works...

Hey DSS3,

When using the Palmer are you going in straight from the speaker output of the 5150? I'm curious, do you have the attenuator set to 30db? Are you using the lead channel on the 5150 boosted?

What impulses are you using now?
