If you take the main seven stars of Ursa Major (or the Great Bear, or the Plough, or the Big Dipper), square the corners off, and make them all evenly spaced, you can make the :.:: symbol. If you follow these stars in sequence, starting with Apha Ursae Majoris for obvious reasons, the last star is called Alkaid, which is clearly a link to Al Qaida. Alkaid's Arabic name means "the leader". Furthermore, as anyone with a passing interest in astronomy knows, if you're in the northern hemisphere you can use Ursa Major to find north.

Al Qaida? Leader? A clear hint of direction? :.:: is obviously some kind of a map to Osama bin Laden's hiding place. And since Haven was released in 2000, DT clearly knew about bin Laden's hiding place before he needed to go into hiding. They were in on the planning. The only possible conclusion is that some or all of DT are high-ranking members of Al Qaida. It also means that we all support terrorism. Better put your helmets on, Dubya's going to be paying a visit pretty soon...

 this is what i missed about um.

on topic: the best idea i came up with was posted twice or more already and included a very silly smilie, so i bow i front of your theories in a very camelot-ish way :kickass:

Perhaps the dots on the key and lock line up when you turn the key in the lock?

Also, if you close the cd cover, dots match each other. I mean they're symmetrical. hmmm :err:

Obviously they want you not to open the case, or to keep it closed. They're embarrassed by Haven because it's a CD full of filler material that Mikael forced the band into doing, even though everyone else wanted to do an album of Abba covers.

Ok, I'm running with that. Tell me if I miss any.

#2 in row 2 looks like another lock. But aside from that, I'm still confused.

if you look at the symbol sideways it looks like a 9. what's 9 + 2? 11 and there is 11 tracks in Haven. pure and simple.

Any of you guys ever asked them when you've bumped into them in the supermarket, or at a festival, or wherever it is you seem to always bump into them?
I've asked Niklas and he wouldn't tell. He seemed pretty solid about not revealing this to anyone, so i highly doubt any other forum member is into it.

Alright, I've been thinking this over for a long time now. Let me tell you all my ideas on the subject. :)

Aside from just the Character booklet, the dots have appeared on each DT Release since Haven, with the exception of Damage Done, where they are no where to be found. On the DVD, they are in the booklet on the Haven cover(of course), in the booklet for Exposures, not only were they inked on someone, but they were also right next to the photo in grey. They also appeared in the booklet and back cover to Lost To Apathy, and of course...
in the Character booklet, the :.:: appears the beginning of the composers of each song

As I said, in Damage Done they were missing, or at least I couldn't find them. Anyway. Haven. Aside from the theory of lock and key, the human imperfection aspect, as well as the incorrect Braille and Morse code theories(I've tried them myself, in braille it makes only two letters, and obviously as it's already been pointed out, morse code uses - and .) What else have we got? Well, it has been said before that there are clues in the artwork for the album, which I think I have found. :p

Note I. The lyrics have a shift in them often from small to capital letters, and sometimes they are italicized.

Note II. There are lots of references to steel mesh and film and also and there is a page with both elements and it features an animal's head (A Crane I think?) in the center of the page(reflecting on the fact that this isn't the happiest cd around lyrically, perhaps they are implying that they have been caged and exposed?). Makes sense of the songs Cornered and Misery In Me.

and Note III. I think this is the big one. In the art work opposite of the page where the lyrics first begin in the album, take a close look in the pinkish area to the right of Nicklasson's head. There are words in white. : D From what I can tell they read something like "There is no honor amongst theives" and right below them very faintly in red I can see something that looks like it read "& Wings" or perhaps, Win, or Wind, I'm not sure it's not clear enough for me.

Pretty funny huh, you guys are probably thinking" This guys been on this subject too long and he's starting to lose it, seeing words and shit where they aren't" Haha, take out your Haven booklets and check. In fact, I've uploaded that page for you all so it is easier for you to pinpoint.

Don't mind my scanner, its a piece, I know. I circled the area with the words, so look around there.

Keep in mind that I don't yet have a copy of the digi version in my possession yet, otherwise I'd have examined that one too.

A few other things. On the topic of the lyrics, I'm thinking that there may be a code to unlock within them, maybe using the symbols as a key we can figure that out. Seven dots. Every seventh letter in the lyrics maybe? Perhaps using the slashs and different formats used on the letters as markers for this code, there could be a quite few different messages hidden within. But that's going to take a tremendous amount of effort to look into. :erk:

I've also read in an interview with Mikael that the lyrics to Damage Done were in light of somewhat damaged social situations. To me, the words in Damage Done are similar to Haven in a lot of aspects, although Haven in my opinion has a lot more to do with the subconsious issues one may have along with social problems. Kind of like Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon(Haven-Dots = Division Bell-Pubilus Enigma anyone?). I think Damage Done is an extension of the thoughts originally portraited on Haven, and perhaps this is the reason it doesn't feature the dots as the rest of the releases do. Which would also explain why the Live Damage Dvd doesn't have them either unless you count the Haven artwork. :err:

Any suggestions?

very interesting thoughs and considerations. I love speculating on these things.

I agree the small writing says "there is no honor amongst thieves" I can also read the "&Win...." thing but I'm not so sure what is the meaning.

This is not all, though. On Damage Done (digipack) on the last page of the booklet u can clearly read 3 string

- "figure 15: all items in place"
- "body" (over the keft eye of the face)
- "face" (middle-left of the page)

and on the second page, just below the "hours passed in exhile" lyrics, you can read "8x24"

who knows what those writings stand in for?

Taking a bit more direct approach I just split the front cover.

Nothing behind the lock, so dont do this at home kids..

Yes, I've noticed these too. 824 actually appears twice in that album on two different pages. It looks like a hotel door number plate to me.

: / Yeah, I don't think spliting the page would help.

Yeah, but it seems like they've started using it a lot more lately. Regardless I prefer that symbol over any others, except the original logo with the sun. I wonder why they stopped using that.

Anyway, Now I'm thinking that the Haven dots have something to do with The Mind's I symbol, and I'm also wondering why no one has tried explaining that symbol. I mean, The Mind's I yeah, but what exactly does the symbol represent as a whole, exluding just the name of the album.
