Hi guys!
Been a while since I wrote anything on the forums but I've been lurking as always.

So I've decided to pick up a 7 string guitar. Have been waiting for the ltd HEX-7 for a month now and the retailer now says they might get it in by the end of March and I just cant wait for that "maybe" to get delayed further.

So now I'm looking into other options, my budget is around 1000 EUR
I was hoping you guys could give me a few inputs since I really only played a Damien before.

I chose the HEX 7 mainly because it's the only V shaped 7 string I found and also since it use EMGs which I've played the last couple of years.

6 stringed I mostly play my Hellraiser but I am scared of having a thick neck on a 7 string, since I play in an extreme metal band (Behemoth/Nileish type) with alot of black metal influences. So what I want is: A guitar that handles quick fretting, the black metal requires some fairly large chording at times so accessability also plays a key role.

I've got my eyes on the RGA7 now, but I've heard some bad responses to it (Bad pickups, AA Batteries etc..) But at the same time I know Ola rocks the RGA8 and it sound really good and seem to have an awsome neck.

So Im not looking for anyone to make the choice for me, just to get some inputs before I make my last intrument purchase for this year (Thats what I tell the lady atleast).

Thanks alot for reading!
Waiting eagerly to hear your thoughts.

/Jesper

Also, if you're into extreme shapes, check out the BC Rich Stealth Pro 7

AMAZING spec for the price. EMG's, OFR, Neck Thru, mahogany body, ebony board... I'd get one myself but I'm just not into the shape tbh

Thanks for the reply!
I didnt know that there was an SLAT3-7string edition, will deffo look into that.

I've tested a few BCs but I've never "felt" them If you know what I mean.

Still leaning abit into buying the Ibanez for around 500€ and get some aftermarket pickups that also get rid of those AAs.
That would also leave me with some spare money to spend on an DI box if I can find good enough reasons to buy one.

Thanks for the replies mate!

Used MIJ Ibanez 7 string. You cannot go wrong with them, and IMHO they are better than any of the Korean/Indonesian made 7 strings Ibanez have made.

I am currently lusting after an Agile 7 string exteneded scale. They look like a great deal to me. Also for Ibby's thumbs up on ones made in Japan and some of them made in Korea. Thumbs down on Indo/malyasian ones.

Agile sounds awsome, sadly they do not appear to be selling to Europe and the taxes will rape the price :( Ill check if any of my relatives in the states are planning a trip over though :)

Ibanez 7 strings are overpriced, imo. You're essentially buying the name, and not the quality of what they used to be.

Ill give Kurt a mail, seems realistic that I could get one of those Agile guitars here cheaper than I was planning to pay for one of the euros anyway and also, they seem better (for my needs) than any of the guitars I've looked into earlier. Fuck... Now I have to get my hands on one of those Agiles. Im drooling for the "Agile Interceptor Pro-B 725 EB Black Flame Duncan"

Hahaha well good luck man! Hopefully Kurt is willing to ship over there to you. Maybe send him some flowers if he hooks you up. j/k
Be sure to look at the hardware and electronics on the guitars before you buy them. Some of the Agiles come equipped with generic pickups, while some of them have EMG 707's or Blackouts. I think it will save you money and a headache down the road to go ahead and get one already with the electronics you want. :)

Good news, I've been doing some google searches and it looks like Rondo music will ship to Europe... so it just depends on whether or not it makes fiscal sense for you depending on how much S&H and import fees are. I read that someone only was charged $70 to ship to France, so idk if that will be the same case for you or not.

Oh right... Ofcourse the 707s would be my choice, my mistake, you might have just saved me around 300$.
Honestly, thanks for pointing me to them, I'm totally stoked for this. Ill update when I get any response from Kurt!

Oh thats great news!

This is how the shipping to Sweden works
Guitar price + Shipping * 1,05 (Customs)
And then there is 25% tax here so the end price would be
Guitar price + Shipping * 1,05(Customs) * 1,25 (TAX) It's so retarded, but it's still cheaper than the HEX-7 I was going for and prolly better.

70$!? I was thinking around 150$
Thanks for the find!

They do ship to Europe. I know this because I played one for the first time about 3 days ago
And I must say... wow. It easily stacked up against my LTD M-307, maybe even had slightly better fret work! Definitely a consideration for the price man, they're incredible ;)
