i still do not get the performance thing...
i just closed a project that maxed out my current pc because i have a
ton of plugins and samplers running. i just can't imagine that this project would not also max out my pc if i had OSX installed.
the lower cost is surely a benefit, no doubt about that.

Although the OSX has a better memory footprint than windows, this isn't actually an example of performance - you're simply hitting the limits of your hardware (specifically RAM, and possibly CPU) and the same thing would probably happen if you were using OSX... But the real question is how good did it work until you hit that limit, and I can guarantee this:
- when the system is under that much load try starting another program or two, try loading another project, or even opening a web page in web browser, and see which system gets you there faster...
As I've said earlier, the system is much more RESPONSIVE and it's a joy to work with.
