A long lost gem....(to me anyway)!

^ Both killers bands! Beau Nasty's singer isn't for all but I loved his voice, songs were awesome.

Killer Dwarf's "Dirty Weapons" is one of my all time favs, not one bad tune on the album.

LOL. I think I've seen less choreography in New Kids of the Block videod. Seriously, it looks like a record company tried to build a commercially viable band and held open auditions. That said, I remember liking this back in the day. Ahhh... the 80s.

Southgang was another one Metal Edge liked to mention. Of course now Butch Walker has a cult following haha.

One of my favorite non talked about gems is.....

I loved Southgang. Mostly for Jesse (the singer)

And I definitely remember Cold Sweat. Their debut album was delayed like 3 times because they had name problems. First the band was called Ferrari after the guitarist Marc Ferrari but then the car maker sued. Then they were called something else (which escapes me) and another band sued. Finally they named themselves after the Thin Lizzy song and it stuck :)

Zod, which band are you referring to? Folks are talking about several bands here. I'm referring to Heaven's Edge though. Also, it's New Kids On The Block...get your boy bands right! :p

Ok....now we're in my ballpark - Cold Sweat and Heaven's Edge were both good, but if you like those bands, then Shark Island, Hurricane, Tyketto, and Icon are must owns!!!

Sorry to turn this thread into an 80's love fest........

The Hurricane catalog was remastered and rereleased last year... all sounds phenomenal!

I really dug Kelly Hansen's voice... I was late to the party, but his stuff on Unruly Child's Waiting for the Sun is some of my favorite stuff.. I LOVE that CD...

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a Hurricane CD tho...

He's singing for Foreigner now. Saw them last month - he still sounds great.

I used to have Heavens Edge on cassette... I might even still have that song somewhere in my mp3 collection. They were out at a time when I was still into cock rock and hadn't yet gone the way of power metal. The Killer Dwarfs were awesome too!

The remasters are pretty easy to find... I think I got my copies off Amazon even! The packaging leaves a bit to be desired, but I'll live.

The only ones I don't own out of your list is Icon. I'm clueless when it comes to that band. If I remember correctly they were on the same label as Anthrax, Megaforce?

I bought all of those last year as well. Kelly Hansen was/is a great singer.

Killer Dwarfs FTW.IMO,their best CD was Stand Tall,it was a bit raw sounding, but now a bad song on the CD,and you can hear where Skid Row got their sound on this(came out in 1986)

I suppose since we are kind of dancing around with classics now, is there any love for Bad Moon Rising? Kal Swan & Doug Aldrich... a killer duo IMO.

Yep! right here! First I ever heard of Doug was from Bad Moon Rising.
Bought a Japanese cd at a "record show", based on a recommendation from someone I trusted, and I think I have the all of the BMR discography now

:)
