Teens have every bearing on the topic because that is the item the rating system evolves around
Im not seeing how a NC17 rating stops promotion. Industry can do anything it wants in this country, nothing is stopping them from advertising movies. Unless they are feeling neglected for not being able to use the most extreme clip of a movie as a trailer
I'd have to see clips of cut clips to determine if any film was compromised or simply made more tasteful. Either way success means more funds for the next film.
And film makers are not the problem of parents (dont think we dont wish we had their lifesstyle and freedom) and need not impose their sick tendencies on our youth
I understand everything you said, I dont see any better way of doing it, the current system safeguards theater admission age. Parents should not be responsible to walk their teens to the correct movie, at that time in their life they are trying to allow a degree of freedom and independence, trust is great but reality is better, with this system we can trust them to some degree knowing they cant get into certain material... yet... full fledged adulthood will come soon enough. Some like the idea of a free for all world, others like the idea of people showing some restraint, for this reason things such as ratings are a fair checks and balance system for the two opposed parties.
