ROFLCOPTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brian, what plugin you used in pro tools to have that Arch Enemy's Leader of the rats vocal effect?!? Sounds like a bee or something hahaaha.
I've searched that sound for ages!
which plea song are you referring to? It was probably the AIR filter gate(a digidesign plugin)
The Eternal Female at 2:14
Thanks for the answer Brian! This CD is on my car radio since came out!
Hi! Thanks for the comments everyone =)
So as far as the 5150 goes, I actually did a cool setup that I've been doing a lot lately. When I reamped it, I actually sent the "DI" out with a booster to the signal. For this one, I believe I used SoloC amp sim. But I've used tons of others in the past.
So basically the signal is DI---->SoloC----->Profire---->5150
The solo c is where the djenty tone comes from. (And the awesome playing by shredder10)
Then I just miced it with sm57 on axis pointed where the dustcap and speaker meet, and a Sennheiser 421 (Great combo) for some more mids.
Errrmm. Eq for the amp was:
CUTS:
125Hz
550Hz (Wide Q) to knock out some of the boxy tones
4K (I absolutely hate that frequency in most guitar tones)
The cuts weren't very drastic though
BOOSTS:
250HZ
10K Hz
That is all for guitar, other than l1 limter.
I work real hard on bass. I think that's what typically really makes or breaks a mix.
Bass was duplicated and what was done to it is as followed:
TRACK1:
DI--->SSL Channel
SSL Channel: Fast attack, infinite ratio, -20 Thresh, .2(Ish) release.. Then in the EQ section of the ssl channel, I did a 2K boost, 800Hz cut, completely scooped 250hz area, and boosted the hell out of the 50 hz area.
TRACK2:
350hz hi pass (didn't want any lowend coming through this one)
No-amp sansamp emulator for grit
Then the bass was sent to a buss:
Boosting more 50 hz , then scooping more 250 range to get it to sit right,
C4, for controlled lowend (Helps for sublows really well)
Then limited the living hell out of it.
Hope ya diiiggggg
what re-amp box you use dude?
hell yeah dude m/_(>_<)_m/
That effect is actually just AIR filter gate with custom settings, along with delay. I just messed around with the settings until i got something i thought sounded cool. I had actually never heard that Arch Enemy song until a few minutes ago, but it is very similar to that haha.
and sorry for the unintentional thread hijack!

Is that possible in nuendo?
NSGUITAR said:I'm sure it is. Just Rout it the way adam shows and it works great.
and what about impedance?!
Shredder10 was so kind to upload some AMAZING DI tracks for this forum, and I did a quick mix of it and I think it turned out pretty massive. I'm doing something new with every instrument, especially bass. Check it!

NSGUITAR said:To be honest with you, I don't even know what impedance is. haha
But yeah, I don't own a reamp box, and I don't think I'll need one either. The profire worked really well as a reamp box.
Maybe you can explain what impedance is to me.
I don't have anything in front of the 5150 other than the SoloC amp sim, acting as a booster (Sort of like a tube screamer, but with a computer). Try it once. You get a REALLY (sometimes too much) djenty tone.
