Well i dont now if this thread is apropriated but at least/sadly here in brazil we dont have too much material to find about our favorite artists, from vintersorg we dont have anything, all i know about my fav artists is what i found in internet and even with this, how i know if is true? well straight to the point, im just curious in what Mr.V work, out of all his great bands/projects, and in his complex lyrics about phillosophy and mathematics: Mr.V made some enginner or mathematic university? what you like to do out the band? if you feel confortable to answer my doubts, if not i understand. Im just curious about what things you like to do :)

Love to be out in the nature just to explore, observe, feel and think about the things you see and meet. My family of course is s huge interest also. Then my work take alot of time and energy, I'm a pedagogue for quite small children and there's a great challange to work with them in science and other topics. The bands I'm in take all the time left, but hear me right here..it's something that I choose and something I can't imagine stop doing.

I too have a question but I hope it is not too personal.
How is people's reactions towards you being a black metal musician and a pedagogue at the same time? Are they suspicious? Do they even know? Or do they know and don't care or like what you are doing?

Thanks for the quote :) I love spend my time in nature but sadly here we dont have too much nature to explore ): I have some friends living in Scandinavia and i always say to them: 'You guys live in a paradise and dont know', theres a city here with an absurd number of cars in street that they have some car curfew during the week, its horrible..thanks god i dont live in that city, but live in a city full of nature and full of people who really dont care to take care of it, its a dream i had a long time...
I have this feeling about making music, im a bassist but a couple weeks ago i start to make some projects, i bought a bc rich warlock and i start to make my own musics, its something i start to fell and i know that felling wont stop untill i have my own musics finished :)

Oh by Oden I hate pedagogy to be honest, I almost dropped out of my teaching career because of those courses. They're pretty much useless, and I've heard this from people in many different countries. Pedagogy for children is certainly very different, but I still hate that word. Do you have to hand in lesson plans and all that :p ? Since I'm a Uni professor I don't, lucky me hehe.

it's beautiful to hear you still love nature and you haven't totally turned into a urban animal :)
the "odemarken son" is still alive! :headbang:

@Defiance: I'm Uni professor too, but I've been teacher for primary and secondary students too and it has its charm. What I like from teaching to little children is their hunger for knowledge. They wanna know everything and if you can make your classes funny enough for them, it's really cool. It's quite challenging! You become on something like a second parent too.

The students from secondary are a little harder to manage in the sense that they don't give a fuck about anything, but you can apply the same concept for the small children and it still works.

Even us 'urban animals' love our nature!

I have a patch of forest in my backyard. Literally. It's a 'protected greenspace', maintained by the City of Seattle, and is being left alone to grow. There's only trains in the very foot of it - but other than that? It is being totally and completely left alone. I love it.

Here's more info on the little backyard forest: http://www.cityofseattle.net/ban/forestry-cheasty.htm. When school lets up for the term, I'm thinking of joining the volunteer group that keeps the forest clean.

Yeah I've worked with kids and teens too, it's very interesting. I especially like with kids because I'm very hyper-active so I can run a lot with them :p . I teach first year Uni students, which here in C.R. means that they still think they're in high-school. It's worse because they think they're grown-ups, when they really aren't; i.e. they're quite arrogant.

Sometimes I'd just like to really go old school and throw the fucking eraser at them  .

This is excellent, congrats! I just wished more gringos would be more bloody conscious, since they and the Chinese are the ones that pollute the most today.

No conflict in taching and playing music. I believe in the human being as a creative, curious, searching and reasoning being. I guess studying has all those elements incorporated in its very process. The music and lyrics I'm a part of all celebrate these type of messeges.

I work with youth on a social pedagogic manner and I used be working with little children too. Children are just curious and don't pay so much attention to long hair or something. I think youth can identify themselves sometimes with me because most of them are wearing their hair and clothes which go with their favorite music.
I think the way you look or the things you do next to your job are not so important. It's all about the way you present yourself and your empathic skills.

The Seattle area is very conscious about the entire 'nature' thing!

I should go into the forest this weekend and take pictures for you all. One of the best things? Our 'backyard' is technically part of the forest, so we don't have to mow it! :kickass:

And hats off to all you teachers out there. It's something I've considered, but ultimately, I feel much more comfortable behind the computer screen, geeking away. (In fact, my new C# Programming class starts tonight.)

I do know some SQL. But, in the C world, I only know a tiny bit of C, C++, and C# - but I want to learn more. Hence the Programming classes!

I also have a couple of math questions, but I don't know if this is the place to ask them :)

Lua is just another scripting language like Python. I did VB for a year, never wanted to do it again.

Edit: Sorry, don't want to derail the thread.
