a thread about nice cd packaging

already bought it, making a joke about potentially absurd shipping time to amerika

I can't seem to find a decent pic of it but the latest Merzbow release is packaged in a screenprinted hessian bag inside a marble box with a fossilized ammonite engraved on the top. Apparently the CD is only like 10 minutes long too so pretty lol.

The release of 'N Crugu Bradului with the handmade packaging and TRANSILVANIAN TREE LEAF was pretty cool too, I lost my leaf somehow though :(

And the new Beck album comes with a random set of stickers and a blank insert so you can make your own album cover!

Immortal - Sons of Northern Darkness and Empyrium - Weiland.
Immortal's isn't that spectacular compared to other stuff, but I personally really like these fold out panel digi packs.
Also, it has pretty nice artwork and I nice colours :)
The Weiland package consists of three cds (one for each chapter), each in one card board holder, a cool booklet and a case to cram it all into.

Btw, could someone post a pic of the special edition Maistru Sfetnic? I've actually never seen it :(

I have it - it's a little black box and the inlay itself is practically all black (with grey/silver text). I think a few others here have it too so maybe they can post an image.

P.S. I had the CD and inlay, never had the box itself...but amazingly, our Lurch had a spare one laying about so I said thank you very much gov'nor how's your wotsit

The four-way fold out for Last Fair Deal Gone Down is one of my favorites, even if it has the disadvantage of the corners getting worn out. The Weiland one looks nice but I imagine you'd listen to a standard copy to avoid switching CDs. One of my favorite packages would be Porcupine Tree's Stars Die compilation...a miniature box set type thing with transparent sleeves for the CDs and a thick booklet with excellent liner notes.
