a thread about nice cd packaging

How so? Beautiful melancholic black metal completely isolated from other black metal bands, very relaxing and with a great atmosphere.

ILDJARN's Ildjarn is Dead. This is a poor picture I found online that doesn't really do it justice.

Basically it's a fold-out A5 box that contains a poster that folds out to the size of 4 A5 sheets on each side, containing a 16,000 word statement from the artist. The two CDs come in plastic sleeves, both with fold-open booklets with artwork. It totals 53 tracks, clocks in at over two and a half hours of raw black metal. Contains rare early demos, EPs and unreleased material.

This is how you bury a band and seal their legacy.

Well, I will admit that it gets a touch better when it slows down, but is still really fragmented and just plain not good imho. The first half of the song is absolutely cringe-worthy.

*shrug*

i still want an ildjarn something, but im screered i wont like it

pffft, doomlicker gave up black metal for trad doom and crap.

ILDJARN isn't for the faint of heart. It's rawness makes DARKTHRONE sound like Sunlight Studios and they're short bursts of simple black riffage. Think MALVEILLANCE but rawer and simpler.

My thoughts are similar to yours regarding this track, the slow section is a potentially great song fragment inserted in a turd sandwich. If anything illustrates why I prefer dark atmosphere to low-fi rawness, this would be it. And I usually like long ambient intros, but this one descends into pointlessness.

Alcest, Paysage d'Hiver, and Darkspace ftw. I still need Neige's other bands (yes, I know the latter two are not).
