first off, I'm not planning on using this for recording. But I was thinking about getting it for my band for playing samples and synths at live performances. Has anyone, by chance, used it? It would be sweet to get any opinions from those of you who used it before I drop the money on it. Thanks

It´s very good, you don´t even need a midi controler as you can control the midi via your own pc keyboard. It´s also great to control Propellerheads Reason via ReWire.

...and yeah, it SUCKS to record audio tracks, but works fine via ReWire on you DAW.

yeah, I'm thinking of just using it to add keyboards to our live performances without having keyboard player, this will also allow me to add loops/samples/booms etc... I understand that it is set up really nice for live performance. I'll just have it on my book. Which brings me to another question, I was thinking of getting the PreSonus FireBox and run it through a di rack so each pre-recorded track can have its own signal to the mixing board since the mix will be different at every venue. Does this seem like overkill/or a good idea? and does anybody like the FireBox?

^I Would do it the same way.
Just don't know if the FireBox has enough outs. Maybe should buy something that has more cause you might eventually go crazy with that stuff once you see the possibilites! ;)
