>what would be Alexi for us without his lil' angry rabbit image

HAHA!! well he still does really good music so i tend to think he'd still be well known
some metal bands have a lot of them into their image, but thankfully, most of them would still be really good without it

i suppose what Niniel suggests is like tv and books... you can have as much fun (or more) with a book as with a TV, and you don't need to see, your imagination can make up for it :-)

I'm sure for example that a metalfan dude like Angela Gossow for both her looks and her voice... Ppl should just admit such things, it is not something to be ashamed of, like you telling us Niniel

this was the best exemple. angela kick ass

but that's it.. metal and "trueness" is just a thery. in practice, no one is really "true". there's a point where you gotta udnerstand those dude are human. Music is both a passion and a job.

Look this, is taken from an interview whit Euronymous:
Euronymous - If you start to look at how black metal bands were in the ancient days, such as Venom, Mercyful Fate, Hellhammer, Bathory, Destruction, Sodom, etc., you see that they had nothing to do with what is called 'underground'. They were signed to big labels, they earned well-deserved money and were NOT submitted to the hardcore-laws which are ruling the 'underground' today. These laws say that you are not allowed to play death or black metal (!) if you don't: (1) hate money and refuse to earn anything on what you've paid enormous amounts of blood, sweat, money and time for. [...] I get too angry when thinking about this. The black metal bands of ancient times didn't have to think about any of these shitty things, they could go for being BIG, having a huge stage show and earning big money. And nothing was wrong with that. Now, WE have been servants of the 'underground' for 8 years. Where do we stand today? We have NO money, sometimes not enough to eat. Our equipment is fucked up, shit, or non-existent. We don't have proper places to live. [...] All these 'underground' rules look great at first sight - the music becomes a protest towards the commercial music industry. This is good of course. But on the other hand - they KILL the bands.

someone(even a music god) as got to eat, and playing music is the best way to do so.

Lol, then again! I know the corpsepaint is not hidding...And no, I ain't lesbian, and, well, I don,t hate the idea of being weird...I am a musician, not a fan...and, I just get bored after a very short while of admiring the face of someone who's just not a part of my direct environment and never will be...I don,t know, but it just gets boring and anyways, *real* guys are much more interesting...really...Just think at the chances we have to meet any of the Bodom crew! lol I might just be some pessimistic dreambreaker, but I don,t waste *love*(if it can be called that) on an image. Though notes and riffs will forever haunt me...

Edit: *real* guys are much more interesting by the simple fact yu might actually get to know them real good....

And...Alexi/Rabbit?????? I don,t get it....

OMG gal, I did not say I am in love with them! you really misunderstood me :)

But anyway, a musician cannot live in the shadow forever. His/her image sells the albums too, so I don't get what's wrong with it.
But of course it is your choice If you wanna be a kewl musician who's talkin' to her fans regularly or a narrow-minded monkey like the Manowar guys

I never said you were in love with any of those...lol You have your own name and your own avatar and seem to have quite more personality than some.. I was talking about a certain ytype of fan, no one in particular.

And, euh...Manowar??? The name is familiar...but...whatever...

And, well, Talking to fans regularly is a nice thing...something I do admire in a musician...but...err...I never know anything more than the name of the band and their music when I buy a first cd...then, I learn: so, those are the members...and what they do on it...Usually my admiration might go to the talent of the composer. Here, we're not exposed at all to anything that is not pop, so, I just could not buy an album for the image of the band, I just don't care until they have my ears'attention.
