I am actually happy if it is true as I always wanted to see the classic lineup at least one more time.
I did think earlier that this would give John another chance to make a killer armored saint cd or in this case, help teach his new youngin all the great armored saint tunes.
I am an anthrax fan since the late 80's. I dealt with the disappointment of joey being axed. I loved joey's stuff. i loved John's stuff. I will be a fan till the end despite charlie and scott's never telling us anything first before rumor sites can jump on this stuff.

Being a fan doesn't mean blindly supporting every decision the band makes and praising everything they do as the greatest thing ever. That makes you a sheep. As hard as it may be for you to understand, some of us got into the band with John Bush on vocals. Some of us have been listening since the beginning and now prefer Bush. Doesn't mean that we hate Joey or that era. I love both eras of Anthrax. They have continued to make great music and have busted their asses without any help from their labels or radio in the states. So when we see that they have finally secured a slot on the show that they have been continually passed over for, it makes us a little sad that John Bush won't be there to show all the "kids" that Anthrax is not just some "80's metal band", but just a great metal band period. With the old line-up performing I'm afraid they will give off the impression as just an 80's band, and the newer generation won't be inclined to buy any new material they put out with Bush. However, having never seen the band live, I would love to go to Ozzfest and see them perform, regardless of who's singing, because I am a FAN. I don't hold any ill-will towards the boys personally for this decision. I understand that this is a very hard business to make a living at. I want them to be able to live comfortably for the rest of their lives, they deserve nothing less. I think most of us here understand that as well, doesn't mean we have to be all "RAH RAH! JOEY'S BACK! HOORAY!" I truly believe this is just a quick nostalgia run, so when this is over, hopefully I will be able to see them touring on a new album with Bush in a more intimate venue without it costing an arm and a leg. With that said, I hope you can see why some of us have concerns about this decision.

If this does happen, how are they all going to get along? Are they even on good terms?
I just hope John and Rob aren't getting the shaft on this deal, b/c its hard to believe that this wouldn't be a bit of a slap in the face for them.

I hope people could accept this. You'd think people would be like yeah thats cool a reunion but nooo.... hopefully rob and john will like this idea to let old school fans get to see them live if they have'nt gotten to. I'd like to see either singer live cause i like both eras, but im just a regular fan of the bush era, while im a die hard fan of joeys. this could be just a summer tour, or they could keep the 5 original member of the joey era permanant and do another album together. now that would be awesome.

I haven't said anything negative about the band. And I never whined about these rumors.
I'd seriously LOVE to meet Joey and Danny. I, as many on the board have said, grew up listening to them. Anthrax helped me get through High School. John Bush joined Anthrax the year after I graduated!
When they wanted to do a Joey/John tour. I was fucking stoked! But it didn't happen.
I'd love to see a semi- reunion. It would be great, Joey and Danny doing the old shit as a one time thing, and having Bush sing his songs, and Rob play his leads. I think 95% of the other board members feel the same way.
I'm thinking Karina is right...
And one more thing, listen to Sound Of White Noise, or We've Come For You All, and try to imagine Joey singing.... It would NOT work.

It was bound to happen sooner or later..the band had an awesome ride with the Among the Living lineup and a ton of diehard fans have been asking for it for years....If Bush is getting shouldered out that sucks ( but I doubt he is) ...Rob is awesome but really is not a big deal ( he has a producing career is a young guy and he will bounce back)...Heck they dumped Paul Crook after he did 3 tours/produced/ and worte solos for them...nobody got bent out of shape over that...the thrax has been my favorite musical entity for 20 years and I'll continue to support any version.... but I still hope they resume with Bush when it's all said and done. but who knows this band is gonna smoke everyone at Ozzfest so it could actually score them a better record deal in the future.

Some of us just don't want to see Anthrax regress. That's what will happen if they go back to the old line-up. Anthrax (re)built up a great following especially in Europe with WCFYA and now they just seem to want to ignore that and live in past glories, losing all their momentum of WCFYA and MOMD.
