Anyone ever try these? They look like the SD version of an 81. I'm sceptical though as the 81 is as badass as it gets....(active wise at least).

They're not bad. Cool if you want to put actives in your Ibanez 7 string without getting out a router, but otherwise I prefer EMG.

Honeymoon period ended... suddenly the 'organic' and 'more dynamic' nuances I found about the pickups sounded mushy and muddy.

Not to mention the bridge pickup is RIDICULOUSLY HIGH-FUCKING-OUTPUT! That shit is way way way way way too hot! It seriously made me remove the OD808 from my rig when using it.

And-how about comparsion betweem them and EMG's?
Why EMG's are better?

EMGs sound cleaner and crisper to me. The Duncans sound warmer and fuzzier - probably great for some people but for playing precise metal riffs it's not nearly as clean and tight of a sound as EMGs.
