Akerfeldt on Loomis

Yngwie Malmsteen touring with Jorn Lande at the vocals. Apparently these are floating about....the two never actually released an official album or anything because it came to blows on tour. But to hear Lande sing Malmsteen material like "I am a Viking" or "Rising Force" would BLOW MY MIND!!!1

That's going to be a tall order, but I'll look around.

What are the years these shows would exist?

I'll look it up for you. I think it'll be easy for me to find because of all the mass publicity /uproar the tour caused. Lande ended up getting booted out through some absurd accusation of him hitting Malmsteen's wife.

If you can't find it then no worries, but of course if it's right there staring you in the face then win!

OK in doing some digging, Jorn Lande sang for Yngwie Malmsteen on the WAR tour (supporting "War to End all Wars" no doubt) during March 2001. He quit the tour by April and was replaced by Mark Boals.

So really, a bootleg from any date in March 2001 should be good.

Yeah, here's a link to Jorn Lande's interview (and there you'll find a link to Malmsteen's response): http://www.houseofshred.com/interviews/inter_jornlande0401.htm

Man, this show would have RULED. It's the next best thing to the long awaited Dio/Malmsteen collaboration.

I will look JayK, but it's going to be a longshot. That's a real small window is all.

Ha ha, that was fast.

I found 3 complete shows, though your dates seem off a bit.

I found:
6/15/2001
6/17/2001
7/10/2001

all complete, all with Lande on vocals. Luckily, the guy who has them is one of my longtime trading mates, so I emailed him to check about availability. I'll keep you posted.

Cool stuff!!! But is your friend sure those shows are with Lande on vocals? :err: It's just that the article about the fight etc suggested that the tour started in March and that Lande was replaced by Mark Boals on April 29.

In the Malmsteen response:

"This message is spoken directly to my fans. I am extremely sorry that many of you were not able to come to my shows [April 10 - 28, postponed due to departure of Jorn Lande and John Macaluso].....When Jorn Lande was offered a slot on the WAR tour beginning in March....yada yada"

In fact the interview with Lande was conducted on April 17th, well after he'd been kicked off so I suspect those show dates are accurate, but it's with Boals on vocals, not Lande.

On the dates Mark highlighted, Mark Boals was not available due to prior commitments. As a result, Lande filled in just for those dates.
