"Autumn Reflection" is definitely a good enough quality video to be played on there. Though I dunno if it'd fit into the shows format between all the metalcore and stuff they play.

I don't know - I think that with them having advertised for Daylight Dies (I swore they were a metalcore band because of that), and I THINK having played a video of theirs - but just last week they played Enslaved's video for Isa, the week before that Kamelot's Ghost Opera and Alabama Thunderpussy's Words of a Dying Man so it isn't that hard to see a ND video getting played on HBB. They do occasionally play good shit.

I pretty much stopped watching HBB a while ago, cuz it was mostly metalcore, Static-X type stuff that I'm really not into. It just got old, but if it has begun to improve again, that would be most cool. It would be great to see "Autumn Reflection" on there!

BTW if it's of any comfort to you guys, the only chance we get of seeing metal videos is playing our own DVDs or go online. At least you still *have* Headbanger's Ball. It disappeared off our MTV screen ages ago. None of these youngsters even know who Vanessa Warwick is/was.
Gone are the times I programmed the VCR for the late night recordings and spent some good times in front of the TV with the extra pro of being able to ffwd the crappy stuff. Yes people, we're talking about the age of video tapes.
Ugh, now I feel old again.

Hey, I am an older guy too (32).
I used to watch the original Ball in the late 80's too.
Even though I knew a little about most of the bands played, I got more into bands like VoiVod, Kreator, Helloween, Nuclear Assault, Overkill, etc. thanks to the Ball.

With the majority of vids played on the Ball, I am not sure if the Autumn Reflection video would be the best choice for NDs first video to be played. Awesome video and one of my favorites on TPHD, though not sure how well it would go over with the majority of the Ball's viewers who are unfamiliar with the band.

A video for a song like "Drown" would be killer, and could appeal to fans of many different genres.

While on the subject, are there currently any plans for shooting any more vids? Maybe this is part of the upcoming plans which can't be discussed yet...

Yea, the late 80's HBB was awesome! Bands like Metal Church, King Diamond, Testament! :headbang: ... some classic stuff. I never missed that shit, man! You know Ricky Rachtman is doing NASCAR now? I find that quite odd...:p

He's had that "Racing Rocks" radio show for a while, but only this year he joined the Speed Channel for pre-race broadcasts & such. He's still the same old guy - was doing a broadcast and discussing the Garmin GPS system and how it plays music. He said that if he was using it, he'd jam to Slayer. Kind of cool to see them mentioned on the Speed Channel.

Yes, I am a NASCAR fan. :Smug:

Shh, don't tell anyone, but so am I :loco: !

It just took me aback a little bit the first time I saw him interviewing a driver. Not someone I would ever have expected to see in those circles...

I hated Rikki Rachtman. Total poser.

He is one of the WORST interviewers ever....

Here's an interview he did with DRI:
Rikki - "So, can you tell me what the song "Abduction" is about"?
DRI - "Ummm.. Abduction? Kids who are abducted? Not sure what more we can really add to it, aside from the title...."

I couldn't even imagine the type if idiotic questions this guy would have for a band like Novembers Doom.

Agreed that a song like "Drown" would fit well with the tempo of the show.

The show has been getting better. However, I think that's due more to the faat that Metalcore is currently dying a slow death. I suspect there are a number of kids out there who liked the aggression that Metalcore offered, but who grew bored of it and are now looking for music with a bit more substance.

Zod

I am in full support of all HBB watchers being strapped to a chair and forced to listen to Virgin Steele until they have a revelation of "Holy shit. I'm no longer listening to that shit I once did."

I could swear I saw a few TER bands on HBB ... wasn't Lordi on recently?

Autumn Reflection I think would be a bad choice to make a debut with. Plus due to its lenght it would never get played. Would have to be edited.

Drown would be great and for sure would get you a legion of new fans.

Paul, thanks for that great news!
Yes, a track like "Rain" would be perfect.

I think the great thing about TNR is how "visual" the lyrics are.

It's almost like you can visualize what a video for each track could look like.

thanks to my digital recorder I can watch the Headbangers Ball in 10 minutes. They literally play the same videos each week. The late 80's version wasnt anu better, they always played the good stuff at the very end. Then again that is how I found out about a lot of great bands back then.
