pretty much this. They're one of the most known(at least in the thrash metal circles) thrash metal bands to come out of Texas. Calling that album OSDM is the equivalent of calling and album like Darkness Descends ODSM.

Aggressive, brutal thrash =/= old school death metal.

There's some death/thrash influence in there, the drums and some of the riffs yeah. I think the vocal style and the overall feel of the album makes it more thrash than death though.

Devastation are definitely Thrash, there are heavier more brutal Thrash bands out there that are still just considered Thrash.

Idolatry is much heavier on the DM than Signs of Life. I actually have no problem with calling that album death/thrash.
