I've read some great things about that Khemmis album! The Christian Mistress album should be waiting for me at home by now,I was a little disappointed with what came after Agony and Opium but I reckon the new one will still be great!
Listening to Maniac Butcher 'Barbarians' at work,man I love this album,I love how cranky they sound but still manage some righteous riffage.

Well, I can entirely see why Pallbearer might get coverage, they're fantastic and yet not so heavy that they're impenetrable to non-Metal heavy music fans.

If by basically, you mean only the vocals you'd be correct. As stated the band is much heavier than Pallbearer and even has a sludge quality to their riffing.
