I meant more along the lines of today's Greek black metal. Rotting Christ and Varathron, while good, are far from what they used to be. The only other band I'd place on the same level as Kawir is Macabre Omen.

But yeah, if we're talking about modern stuff, Macabre Omen are the best imo. Their latest album is easily my AOTY for 2015. Amazing stuff.

I've been hitting the vaults and pulled out this classic masterpiece from Iron Maiden. Definitely my favourite Maiden album.

Finally listened to the new Vektor. Definitely strong and not even my normal cup o tea. Favorite track: Pillars of Sand. That said it still pales to the Oranssi Pazuzu & Cobalt records.

Still need to hear moonsorrow too...

Moonsorrow's new record is fucking great. The Cobalt album was a big surprise for me...great stuff there.
