I can't say I've thoroughly explored a lot of classic funk bands' 90s output, but so far Tower of Power is the only one that actually still managed good faithful albums in their early style. Like, what Cameo and War were doing around the same time is some of the most abominable music imaginable. This is still cheesy and slick as fuck, but great nonetheless.
