BLIZZARD BEASTS is their most weird and warped album, always really liked it. i get why pure BM heads wouldn't as it has more death and thrash in there, lotsa MA vibes, but w/e it rules. BATTLES is probably their most savage, direct, relentless album so hardcores should be all over that shit. i prefer the first two as well but the next two don't deserve to ignored. more or less everything from ATHoW onward bores me though

Death metal is only slightly behind black metal as my favourite sub genre, so the death metal elements don't bother me and Morbid Angel is one of my favourite bands. As I said, Blizzard Beasts isn't bad or anything, it's just rather shallow and the production sucks - the drums are irritating. It leaves no lasting impact or impression on me.

AtHoW is pretty shitty, no idea why it gets fellated so much. It's their highest rated album on RYM by quite a large margin!
