I'm not really sure how a band can suck for so long, then just wake up. Maybe the marijuana haze finally lifted from Barnes brain, or maybe he just found the internet and realized people have been making fun of him since 1997. This album and it's predecessor are rock solid mid paced death metal. No god awful vocals. Hell his vocals here are the best since the bleeding. No bull shit song lyrics. No gimmicks. No duets with a rapper or some awful female vocalist. This is what should have been after haunted and I can't help but be happy for Barnes death metal rebirth.

I just recently discovered this obscure gem. It sounds like a perfect blend of power metal with vicious thrash metal, but you could definitely call it speed metal and wouldn't be wrong. One of the most violent records I've heard over the last few years.

You might want to check out 'Slow, Deep and Hard'. Their first album which more easily bridges the gap b/w Carnivore and Type O Negative. Essentially gothic thrash and doom all rolled into one.

Well some of the songs on the first one were meant to be on the next Carnivore record. I like those that sound the most like Carnivore there, so that's probably them.
