I construct mathematical groups as finite homomorphic images of infinite semi-direct products. I use double coset enumeration to show the structure of factored progenitors which produce images of sporadic permutation groups. I then present applications of these techniques in classical music harmony analysis and understanding.

You'd need at least two modern abstract algebra classes (the ones after calculus 3/diff eqs), some computer programming experience, and a full run of undergrad music theory courses to understand it.
