There actually is a subgenre called aboriginal rock, which sort of mixes reggae and dub with generic/pub rock and ties it all in together with a certain tribal vibe.

It's not great but it can be pretty catchy and fun.

Actually, and I totally agree with your description of the music, for some reason liberals don't really fawn over this kind of music as much as they probably did in the 90's.

Especially because these bands were all wrapped up in the protest movements of the 90's over here, especially in relation to that band Midnight Oil.
I listen to a lot of aboriginal music though, mostly the lesser known stuff, but also some cheesy pop music from the 80's and 90's which included didgeridoos and clapsticks side-by-side with house elements. Pretty funny.

The Arnhem Land LP series is some of my favourite stuff, if you liked the music you heard on that video you posted you'd probably like them.
