Albums with 5150 on them.

the Haunted used Peavey XXX's on Revolver, and I am guessing on Dead Eye as well

Mark 'B' for false: We had a guy who had a ton of inside knowledge from Studio Fredman post a while back that rEVOLVEr was a 5150I head slaved into the rhythm channel of a 5150II.

Tue Madsen himself said that The Dead Eye was a mix of three amps - Laboga, Recto, and 5150.

+1

And if I recall correctly, the band's forum on their website had a pic of the amps with apparently the rEVOLVEr settings dialed in. Can't be sure if they were the actual settings used on the record, though, since I don't own either a 5150 or a 5150 II.

the last two Botch albums were 5150 and Mesa Boogie, the new Daath record (Subterfuge is all thats out now) is 5150, Genghis Tron use 5150, God Forbid used 5150 before the last album, the first few Opeth albums are 5150, the two Red Chord albums are 5150, the Unearth album Oncoming Storm is 5150, the last Acacia Strain album is 5150

oh shit, thanks for correcting me on all those, that Acacia Strain album definitely doesn't sound like Krank to me

Yeah I had to ask the one guitarist(there was only one at the time I saw them) because his live tone was amazing, and he was using Kranks. He said he used them on the last album, but we all know how recording goes, the producer might have reamped everything. But the live sound was just like the album so who knows.

I'm taking a liking to these amps. I played the 6505 plus and the JSX back to back and liked them both. The JSX is way more flexible and has a better clean channel. The JSX can drive just as good maybe better then the 6505.
Nice amps for a great price.

Taken from Opeth's equipment section on their website "Amps: Peavey 5150, Fender dual reverb, ENGL 100 Watt head, and more"

Both are mentioned, I'm pretty certain the 5150 was the main amp for rhythm's, maybe the ENGL was for leads?
