I'm going to buy some e-kit for recording purposes and playing rehearsals at home. Is Alesis DM5 Pro Kit any good? Has anyone of you this kit? I plan to use it with DFHS. I've heard that the hihat has only two options - open and closed, is it true? Has anyone any samples recorded with this kit? Is it solid build? I know it's cheap e-kit, but... ;)
Or maybe there is something better in this price range? :) :headbang:

i got one and returned it. It mistriggered alot for me. The sounds weren't that good. It also seemed like it had low polyphony: i.e. it couldn't keep up with alot of things happening at once. The kick pad was pretty loud for an e-kit. the polyphony could have been a dm5 issue, so if you use dfh it would probably work better.

also the pads are the same essential design as those diy e-kits made from remo practice kits.
