What is everybody's opinion of these? I just got some last weekend, and I think they sound awesome, but I've never had good monitors before. Are they particularly good for mixing? Do they have some frequencys they like to enhance/cut and as such should be watched out for?

My friend has the MK2. He picked a pair up for $800 AUD and he's really happy with them. I inquired about these before aswell and heard that they are a good entry-level set of monitors. That's about as much as I can say without actually hearing them for myself.
i dont care for them at all. very dull sounding to me i listened to them when i was buying monitors and have heard them at a few different studios. not my thing at all.

TOSOH--I am in the same situation as you...I got a pair off ebay about a year ago when i started getting into this shit and the mkII's have gotten the job done pretty well....I don't really have anything to compare them to however...I like to a/b my work with other cds (doesn't everyone) and the biggest difficulty I've had is matching the boom of the kick w/ these speakers... kick will sound similar to cd on mkII's but then in my car it will be very different...sorry if this is confusing but i'm at work, HTH///
