Product Description
This Finnish death metal band rocks the world, and guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho leads the charge. In this 2-DVD set, Dannny Gill provides a step-by-step breakdown of Alexi's styles and techniques via in-depth analysis of five songs: Angels Don't Kill * Are You Dead Yet? * Hate Crew Deathroll * In Your Face * and Sixpounder. Each guitar part is played up to speed, then broken down note by note. 3 hours, 37 min.

I might get that, but I'm not the pro guitarist here so it would be interesting to hear it from guys like Arcane, Mitch etc.

ADK is an alright pick but I'd seen more interesting alternatives than those songs.

oww shweet letz spend $49.99 on a kool book and dvd to watch a guy that cant play gtr try and demonstrate cob songs wrong and then go learn it rong and fink ur leik totally oarsum

So, where can I buy it? :p

^There's the little Amazon link.

Shit, I thought Alexi was in the DVD.. So this is just as useless as the AYDY tab book.

Legendary Licks?

umm no. I don't see Kissing the Shadows, Silent Night Bodom Night, Towards Dead End, Hate Me, Follow the Reaper, Warhearts, Deadnight Warrior, etc. on there.

this guy's on crack.

... and those are always the same licks and solos. Whenever you see some instructional DVD's /Youtube videos or whatever it always contains AYDY, YBOD, BBT, Sixpounder,... I also want to see some BD stuff or licks from HB or FTR songs.

And to be honest... I don't know why I always buy this shit cause the only parts which were really helpfull from all DVD's and Youtube videos I've ever seen from were I really learned from were the WNGF and LDB interlude from the Rockhouse DVD and the Hate me solo and LB intro from the YGM.

That's exactly my thoughts. When I saw the list of songs my thoughts were These again? Gimme a fucking break. But that's obviously the kind of songs Americans like.. OMG I'm so heavy -riffs.

Maybe it's better I don't write a review.

They should've had:

Everytime I Die
Trashed, Lost & Strungout
Kissing the Shadows
Silent Night, Bodom Night
Warheart

Oh and Alexi

wtf, you quote someone from California who complains about the list of songs and you agree with her but at the same time you say that's what Americans like

But that's obviously the kind of songs Americans like.. OMG I'm so heavy -riffs.

goddamn I hate how true this statement is. I was recently in a band with 2 other guys, and altho we all like metal, the other guitarist was like, only into heavy riffs. I was trying to add melody to the songs and he just straight out said no, I'm getting too technical. and harmonies? yeah you can forget those too. like wtf. ok, go be happy with your fat american generic heavy-riffs metal.

I need to go to Scandinavia and find some real musicians.

well yeah, but I hate clichés and though he might be correct stating that many Americans love these heavy riffs obviously some people in scandinavia do like them too... Alexi?! ;)

haha, well yeah, since certain songs of his songs are what started our complaints to begin with  But I mean, speaking in terms of the majority, America and Scandinavia are very different when it comes to which type of metal the people prefer. sadly stereotypes are there for a reason.
