am i the only one watching the c. rice grilling?

someone else commented that rice is "all about context", and i'd sort of agree. the democrats on the commission def. seem to want a snappy yes/no answer on a lot of things, and she ain't giving them.

also, the "audience" (the press??) are partisan applauding

I know the 9/11 widows have been attending...

Kerrey was going after her pretty aggressively but she got a few return shots in. You know the white house rehearsed her for hours in preparation for this. I think its funny that Bush will be testifying in tandem with Cheney, the prevailing wisdom being that they want Cheney on hand to keep Bush from screwing up.

yeah. when is that happening?

i'm looking at this in terms of how the gen. public will view it, whatever public is even interested in this. and i believe kerrey's verbal blunders will stick in their craw, so to speak. not good.

my ears hurt after his "m-word" comment. "m-word"... who weaves m-word into their dialogue in this instance??????

rice: "there was no silver bullet for stopping this. there were changes that needed to be made and there was no way to do them in the allotted time"

comishes: "declassify 8.6.01 document, please"

i watched it--was working, so missed a bunch. kerrey seriously slapped her around at points, like when she tried to waste time and filibuster.

or when she's like, "We had no warning that OBL might be determined to attack inside the United States."

and he's like "What was the title of the memo you sent around?"

and she's like "Well, the memo discussed how--"

"NO, what was the TITLE of the memo?"

"The memo contained--"

"THE TITLE! THE TITLE!"

"...the memo was titled Osama bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States."
