Amatuer short mix for everyone to slate :)

Drums are DFHS, bass is some soundfont, and guitar is Line6 Spider 112, on recto amp setting with a boss sd-1 in front of it. Recorded out of the headphone port of the amp. Sounds good to my ears, but what do you guys think?

two initial impressions...

the guitar needs to come up... kit is too loud

the guitar sounds like its way too far back... not a volume issue

yeh, that's me being worried about my shitty guitar tone, and thus partially burying the guitars down in the mix, but i dont think it's too bad to say i'm using limited software/hardware.

Snare sounds damn close to the original....which one did you use? T.H.E. snare?

It sounds like not only does your guitar tone really take away from the mix, but that you didn't pan it left/right and double or quad track it.

actually it doesn't at all. Try a piccolo, then you'll get closer...

cameltoe - Snare was the 2nd pearl one, no eq, just comp/verb

dss3 - I didnt really multitrack no, it was a quickly put together recording

bob savage - Thanks man, i like the punch i get as well, just need a good guitar tone to go with it now

mxlinus - Is there a good piccolo snare on DFHS?
