For those that prefer to purchase their mp3 albums legally, Amazon is offering "Over 1,000 Albums $5 Each Through August", including a decent (if somewhat limited) selection of Hard Rock and Metal: Halford, Dreamscape, Cloudscape, Orphaned Land, Thunderstone, Dio, Helloween, Hibria, Anvil, Running Wild, Primal Fear, Threshold and more...

Uhhh, your little example there is not very accurate. Nobody really attacked the guy or anything. I (and others) simply in so many words said "thanks for the link, but it's not my thing to pay for a stupid download."

If anything, your avatar here deserves punishment, not KingsGene's suggestion.

I see no difference (music-wise) if I purchase the actual physical album or the download. Every time I buy an album I rip it to my computer and various other mp3 devices and make mp3 CDs for my car. The CD then sits on a shelf until the cows come home. Since I don't walk around snuggling my music collection (with the exception of my Halford autographed Rocka Rolla vinyl with original bottle cap cover) I'm not against saving some bucks and going digitally. I also snagged the last Laaz Rocket for under $9 versus the $16 for the physical. I'm OK with that.

In this case I'd rather pay the $4 to get the 4 tracks Halford released on the re-release than purchase the entire physical album for $15, or save the $1 and purchase it digitally. Win for me.

This is also not to blow this thread up into a "download or not to download" just sharing my views like everyone else.
