OPETH - Lamentations: Live DVD

All regions DVDRecorded at Opeth's critically acclaimed performance at the Shepherd's Bush Empire on 25th September 2003, Opeth's first official DVD release is over 3 hours of majesty, beauty and power that fans have come to expect from this most unique of bands from Sweden. Featuring over two hours of, Swedish Grammy winners, Opeth at their very best in concert, covering material from their much-lauded albums 'Deliverance', 'Damnation' and 2001's 'Blackwater Park'. The DVD also contains over an hour of documentary footage recorded during the making of their now infamous twin alter-ego albums "Deliverance" and "Damnation". Up to Opeth's very highest standards, the DVD once again features beautiful artwork as provided by Travis Smith, and was filmed in High Definition video (far superior to the standard digibeta). Presented in 5.1 surround sound, this is an absolute must have item for any self-respecting Opeth (or any one come to that matter) who is interested in high quality music. We are now accepting pre-orders on this title, PLEASE order separate from the rest of your order so we wont have to delay your entire order!!!!
It says All Regions DVD....booya!

Subject: order question

Hello
I pre-ordered the Opeth DVD and it says it was going to be region-free. I also heard that i was going to get the European version of it, since the US release date is in February. My question is... will i be able to play it in my DVD player or not?

yeah that means we'll have to wait til february. this was supposed to be my birthday present for november 29th!

PAL is video format, the region thing is just DVD player.

That whole region code bullshit is annoying as hell. I dont think they have even made the Uli John Roth live at Donnington for the states so whoever said the states shouldnt complain is pretty fucked up. Opeth only toured northern and coastal cities so everyone who lived in the south got fucked! Our states are just about as big as some euro countries so dont think its a not much to travel. BTW, I don't mind the wait because I never thought theyd make a DVD anyway.

Yeah I never understood the purpose of the whole region thing but I'm sure there's a valid purpose behind it.

Or at least there better be

PAL is also the format of out TV's in Europe.
Most TV here can play PAL and NTSC discs, region 0.

NTSC is USA format, for vhs video AND TV.

Andreas from the end emailed me back. He said yes it is the ntsc version and it will be in soon. What soon means is anybody's guess. Im sure it's the same date as the europe version the 24th. It just won't hit stores in the U.S. till feb probably. So we are good to go, I hope and shit.

Where does it say that the so called european version is PAL anyway? I haven't read that anywhere officially. Plus The End always specifies if DVD's are PAL... I don't think there's anything to worry about for us US fans....
