Uhhhh, I can personly guarentee you that they did not do that, because that isn't how it works at all. It is 100% imposible to walk into a recruiter and a join the military, sorry.

I hate to break it to you but I have friends in the military and out who say otherwise. Im not simply saying they walked in once and signed a form and that was it, Im saying they got in irregardless of the fact that they did not meet the requirements for recruitment. Im sorry but you cant tell me I have hallucinated all this and that some of my good friends and there family are all lying to me  Obviously you seemed to have experienced something different though, so Im not going to say your lying about first hand experience, just that I have seen otherwise.

And herein lies the problem of forcing yourself to get over the frustration and retain a sense of moderation at any cost when trying to discuss politics. If you don't, people tune you right out. That's the problem with the Ann Coulters, Sean Hannitys, Nancy Pelosis and John Murthas of the world. It's wholly unproductive to just spout out ideology.
Well said. There are pundits on both side, whose only purpose, is to create controversy and boost ratings/sell books. This is true of both sides.

If this country is ever going to move forward, there needs to be open-minded, respectful debate. This is one of the reasons I love Jon Stewart's show so much. Granted, it's comedy. But at the same time, he effectively uses comedy to make a lot of great points and educate people. Additionally, even when he has someone on whose opinion he clearly thinks is moronic, he's respectful.

I've said more then once that you can get in even if you have things that DQ you. That doesn't change the fact that they ARE IN FACT DQ's that need a waiver. Now, they may have lied to the MEPS, but from the begining I've been saying getting into the Military in a completely HONEST fashion, is not as easy as most people think, in fact it is often very hard. Nothing you have said disproves this, as they are facts. Not only that, it is the written LAW of the United States.

Also you did say they 'walked in once and signed a form and that was it', but that doesn't matter really.

And let me point out something dude, pascifism is NOT- Look at our current situation with that camel fucker in Iraq. Pascifism is not something to hide behind

yes its called blatant exaggeration old chum, just trying to make my point. I suppose most people around here were shown the back door entrance then, and most military recruiters I have encountered werent particularly interested in upholding the LAW of the United States.

Many recruiters arn't concerned. They get there quota if the person gets in honestly or not, doesn't matter to them.

well then the point is, it isn't as difficult to get into the military as you have experienced if you're willing to cut corners, and apparently many people are

Ok? Thats obvious. Its easy to do most things if your going to be dishonest, cheat, and cut corners. Isn't that just a given? Sheesh.

lol at you guys arguing about stuffs

I worked for three years in an Active Guard management office in Recruiting Command, and I can tell you alot of recruiters are straight up people but they are under alot of pressure to make their quotas, and ... well, recruiters make special pay for the duty so let's just say a certain segment give in to temptation cause who's gonna go home and tell the not so little woman he has to go back to regular duty, and by the way honey, my pay is dropping xxx dollars a month....
not to mention dipping DEPS but that's a whole nother temptation

brother, comparing murtha to coulter or hannity is silly. you may not agree with murtha, but he is a certified war hero, not some flamethrowing commentatoring metrosexual like hannity.

Everyone I know that has joined the military has come out with more integrity than they had going in. - FACT
this is true of lots of people, the military can give your life structure. unless of course you can't handle structure and then it sucks. I was accepted to the Citadel and it would have been a train wreck. I could have dealt with the mental abuse but the mathematics and engineering emphasis would have crushed me.

I wasn't comparing the old murtha with coulter or hannity, but I sure as hell can compare the new one. Not silly at all IMO.
