Amorphis photos

Hard Rock Cafe is an ovepriced overrated franchise that serves shit food and expensive drinks, which in most cases doesn't have much to do with rock anyway.
You haven't missed much, in other words :)

That's what I thought too, and that's the reason why I never visited.
I remember going on school trips to Greece and Italy - all my "rocker" friends went directly to Hard Rock, giving money for those ridiculously overpriced T-shirts.

I went to Lego store instead.
Good call, I wager.

I liked the one in San Francisco twenty years ago because much of its memorabilia was centered around the bands I loved as a teenager, but never visited any of the others (until yesterday, that is, but more likely than not, that 3€ coffee will forever remain the only drink I've had at the place). Their motto is "love all, serve all" - and the staff is indeed friendlier than the prices - but just like for any other chain, it might as well be "seen one, seen all."

Seeing an Amorphis exhibit at a place that is - let's face it - mostly dedicated to the memory of artists long dead and bands whose heyday coincided with my adventures in pre- and elementary school leaves me with mixed feelings, although I appreciate the effort to honor local artists and few bands have shaped the canon of Finnish metal as enduringly as our guys. I certainly miss seeing the Sun Eclipse on stage, especially the original one which retired after Jurassic Rock 2008 (a special gig in many ways, despite the shitty weather). Love the new Circle model, too, but that brown one is still the most iconic of them all.

I had no idea that Hard Rock Cafe went to Finland. It's just a franchise trying to lure people in to eat their food.
Minneapolis MN had one, it had "Prince" stuff and Bob Dylan that I can remember. Food was "ok" , service was horrible and the same old beers that I can drink at home for 1/4 of the price.
Maybe management has expanded to fix er up?
$$$ LOL

But I do have to say congrats on amo for the wall hanging, nothing wrong with that in the long run.

Here you go. Nice job for a festival souvenir, but I daresay your ravens won this round. ;)

Interesting perspective in those London pics. Luckily the photographer didn't drop their camera... :loco:
I think he had two tattoos this summer/tour... Do you have any photo from it?
*my first post here and happy christmas!* = )

Finally got to my laptop, so here are some photos from the New Year gig at Nosturi. Well, 2013 was quite an interesting year to me (but definitely in a good way, all kinds of things happened), so this gig was a good way to finish this year (despite the fact that I was really tired after that). :) Happy New Year to everyone!

Happy New Year to you, too, and thanks for the pics! :)

I only took a few this time - check'em out here - as I was mainly on party business and didn't have the big camera with me. Especially since we already had been pre-partying since the early evening ;) (BTW @Tiiti: the Lutakko beer was pretty good, thanks! :kickass:)

Nice gig at Tavastia yesterday; Two Moons and Mission sounded great (I had never before heard either of them live) and it was nice to hear also Alone for a long time.

Again all my photos can be seen here, but there are some above. As if the lights had been better this time than at Nosturi in New Year...

Sande definitely looks the part. He even put on a jacket :D

BTW, what's with the leather gloves? Does Tomi J. try to look like Michael Jackson now?

Tomi K looks a bit like an elf with that logo extending his ear. ;)

Haha, yeah, you're right.
I imagine working for Santa and in a heavy metal band at the same time is a bit overwhelming, but he seems to handle it well.

I have only recently realized (after watching Vain Kuolemaa) that Tomi's MC jacket is black-red, not fully black.

Sande dominates.

It's okay, they have a deal - the other 364 days of the year Santa works for them. From an incognito office around the corner from Tavastia, under a pseudonym and usually not dressed in red, but the beard's there for sure.

Speaking of Tavastia, here's finally some pics (more here). First time I've seen Niclas with that 5-string ESP, arguably the best-looking bass he's ever played.
